Program Overview

What is RMA Homeschool Enrichment?

Renaissance Montessori Alliance is a one-day-per-week Montessori Homeschool Enrichment Program for Kindergarten and Elementary students (ages 5–12).

We provide authentic Montessori instruction in a structured enrichment day while families remain the primary educators.

Is this a full homeschool program?

No. Families remain responsible for their primary homeschool curriculum, planning, and compliance.

We provide structured Montessori enrichment support — not full-time schooling.

How is this different from a public Montessori school?

Unlike public charter Montessori schools, RMA operates as a Homeschool Enrichment Program under a BOCES model.

Families:
• File a Notice of Intent to Homeschool
• Remain homeschool families
• Participate in one structured enrichment day per week

Your child is not converted into a full-time public school student.

What makes RMA unique?

We are currently the only Montessori-based Homeschool Enrichment Program in Colorado operating under a BOCES authorization model.

This allows homeschool families to access authentic Montessori instruction while maintaining homeschool flexibility.

Academics & Learning

What happens on enrichment day?

Students participate in:

• A full Montessori Enrichment work cycle
• Montessori Physical Education

• Practical Life development
• Leadership & Social-Emotional Learning

Are students grouped by grade?

No. Montessori learning is individualized.

Students work in a mixed-age classroom and progress based on mastery and readiness — not grade level.

Does RMA provide curriculum?

We provide Montessori lessons and enrichment during the weekly session. Families remain responsible for their broader homeschool instruction outside of enrichment day.

Do you give grades or report cards?

No traditional grades are issued. Montessori education focuses on mastery, growth, and individualized progress.

Enrollment & Requirements

Who is eligible to enroll?

Students must:

• Be 5 years old on or before October 1
• Be Colorado residents
• File a Notice of Intent to Homeschool
• Not be enrolled in another state-funded program

A student may only participate in one publicly funded program per year

Is filing a Notice of Intent Required?

Yes. Participation requires filing a Notice of Intent to Homeschool with a Colorado county

Does the Notice of Intent have to be in the county where we live?

No. Families may file their Notice of Intent with any Colorado county or school district of their choice.

Can my child participate in another public program at the same time?

No. Students may only participate in one state-funded program during the school year.

Is attendance required?

Yes. State guidelines require Homeschool Enrichment Programs to provide at least 90 instructional hours per semester

Families agree to make every effort to attend weekly sessions and communicate extended absences.

Tuition & Funding

How is this program funded?

RMA Homeschool Enrichment is state-funded through Education reEnvisioned Board of Cooperative Education Services.

This allows most program costs to be covered through public funding.

Are there any fees?

Families should expect minimal monthly resource or materials fees.

This model provides significantly lower-cost access to Montessori compared to private school tuition.

State Reporting & Privacy

What information is reported to the state?

As a publicly funded program, we are required to collect and submit certain enrollment information for compliance.

This includes:

• Legal student name

• Date of birth

• Residency information

• Demographic data

• Parent/guardian information

• Educational history

Enrollment is not finalized until required documentation is submitted

What if we do not want state reporting?

State reporting is required for participation in this program.

Families who prefer no state reporting may wish to pursue a fully private educational option instead.

Is the program secular?

Yes. Renaissance Montessori Alliance is a secular program and welcomes families from all backgrounds.
